Now Available for Individual Counseling

I'm Kurt Nichols. I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counsleor. I have worked in the Mental Health field for more than 6 years in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I received a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2015 and a Masters in Counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2019 and practice as a psychotherapist in Prairie Village, Kansas. I recognize that my own passion for mental health is in individual therapy and desire to help my clients in whatever way that I can achieve their goals and feel understood and accepted.

My view of therapy is healing through relationship and I work to cultivate an environment where individuals are comfortable being who they are and providing a place to explore those painful, anxious, and frightening areas of our lives that we all have. I operate from an Attachment based perspective and utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I work with a variety of different diagnosis and issues such as Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Relational Issues, Rage, Addiction, Mood Disorders etc.

Therapy can be intimidating, daunting, and completely out of our comfort zones. Men especially have a difficult time moving into a space to express their fears, anxieties, wounding and feelings.
My goal is to create a space in which you feel comfortable to lean into those challenging places and provide the necessary tools to help you to thrive in every day life."
